Green's Creek Train Bridge Ruins

OTTAWA, ONTARIO
BACK

Picture

INFORMATION

The trestle bridge found at Green’s Creek was built in 1909 across Green's Creek in the former township of Gloucester. This rail line linked Ottawa to Hawkesbury until it was shut down in 1939 due to mill closures in Rockland and low ridership. The bridge was dismantled in 1940. All that remains of the bridge are concrete footings with bolts and anchor plates still attached to them. Its an interesting place to visit.
