This school was part of the “écoles séparées d’Ottawa”. This school accommodated the Franco-Ontariens population.
They opened these types of schools across the region starting in 1915 to replace the broken Ontario school system in which teachers were not getting paid in 1914. Written at the top of the main entrance is "1915 Ecole Separee N5". Not much is known about this specific school house, if you know or want to share any additional information please email us under the contact page. We would like to say thank you to the local farmer who let us take pictures and videos of this historical school house. |
