The Limerick Forest Dolls

SPENCERVILLE, ONTARIO
BACK

Picture

INFORMATION

On the north side of Groveton Road, an unsettling sight awaits those passing by. Dozens of dolls are nailed to the trees, creating a creepy display. Local folklore claims the elderly man who once owned the property did this to frighten off neighbors. Regardless of the season, the scene remains eerie and disconcerting. In the fall and winter, the dolls appear mournful and abandoned, pinned to the leafless trees. In the summer, their limp, distorted forms set against the vibrant greenery create an entirely different kind of disturbing contrast.

A drone with a zoom lens was used to film and photograph the dolls.
