A 140 Year Old Canadian Pacific Railway concrete bridge still stands near the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway. The CP railway line was built in 1870 and was dismantled in 1967. Drill holes made in 1870 can still be seen on multiple rocks near the bridge.
The bridge underwent a new paint job in 2017 due to an upgrade to the water system below. Sadly the historical plaque which was attached to the bridge was stolen. Location ID #BR0088 |
