Plan Bouchard Ruins - WW2

BLAINVILLE, QUÉBEC
BACK

Picture

INFORMATION

There was a munitions filling plant at this site during World War II. The plant was operated by the Canadian government and was one of the largest in the country. It produced various types of explosives, including TNT and RDX, which were used to manufacture bombs and other munitions for the war effort.

The plant employed thousands of workers, including many women who entered the workforce during the war. The site was heavily guarded due to the sensitive nature of the work being done here.

After the war, the plant was decommissioned and the buildings were dismantled. However, ruins of buildings and infrastructure can still be seen. The site is now owned by the City of Blainville and is open to the public for self guided tours.
