This bridge was built in 1863 until it was removed in 1976 for safety reasons. This bridge was one of two that crossed the Nation River. All that is left of the bridge is iron rods, concrete and one intact section of bridge.
The following historical information was written and provided by Lucile Lalonde. "This third old bridge replaced an old covered bridge built in 1863, that replaced a first one built in 1820 that was dragged by the angry Spring water, way down the river. In 1926 a new cement bridge was built next to the old wooden bridge that could not hold all the automobiles and trucks anymore. It then turned into a lover’s lane apparently. Regretfully it was torn down in 1976 bringing a lot of the village history with it. The old wooden bridge was sad and so were many older people. It then turned into a lover’s lane apparently.
