INFORMATION

1883: Mr. Coe from Madoc initiated mining operations on it by opening the Jeanette pit under lease. Later, the Hamilton Steel and Iron Company took over the lease and made several other openings, but their mining operations lasted only a brief period. According to Mr. T. B. Caldwell, the total quantity of ore transported from the property during the period of 1891 to 1903 was 10,000 tons.

1915: Property optioned then sold, start of underground development.

1917: CB Mine in operation, Work done - approximately 1,800 to 2,000 feet of cross-cuts and drifts on four levels between depth of 10 and 150 feet, connected by about 230 feet of raises and shafts. Also 400 feet of drifts were widened into stopes from 20 to 25 feet wide.
