Stony swamp is owned and operated by the NCC and is part of the Greenbelt that surrounds Ottawa. Before the NCC owned this section of property, it was owned by early settlers to Ottawa. Evidence of their existence is found four meters off trial #26. A stone foundation can be found among the thick pine woods. Not much remains of this small house. The stone foundation is littered in snail shells hinting at a very wet and moist environment. Near the old house ruins there are stone ruins of a small shed and lots of metal debris. We could not find any historical information on this site.
